Beetroot is a root vegetable that is high in essential nutrients and minerals in the body. Beetroot intake can be very helpful in the body including it in your diet can have lots of healthy benefits in the following ways:

1. Reduce high blood pressure.
The high levels of nitrates found in beetroot boosts levels of nitric oxide. Nitric oxide helps in expanding our blood vessels increasing blood flow and therefore lower blood pressure.

2. Prevents heart disease and stroke.
Regular intake of beetroot juice lowers the risk of heart-related complications. A glass of beetroot juice contains high levels of nitrates which helps in muscle power in patients with heart conditions.

3. Improve exercise stamina.
Drinking beetroot juice increases oxygen circulation in the blood vessels and the entire body. This gives one especially athletes and sportspersons the muscle power to exercise longer.

Beetroot is rich in folate which is a naturally occurring version of folic acid. Folic acid helps to reduce risks associated with pregnancy complications and birth defects of the baby.
