Kenyan businessman Joseph Musembi Wambua is in trouble after he allegedly defrauded a city businessman, Indreshkumar Ambala Patel of Sri Shesh Sai Imports Limited, of some money contrary to the law.

According to the court documents, Wambua is said to have lied to the businessman that he was in a position to help him import some goods from abroad so that he could carry on with his business.

Wambua appeared before senior resident magistrate William Tulel, where he was charged with the offence.

Court documents show that the accused person, Joseph Wambua, used tricks to advance his conmanship, which left the businessman stressed and disturbed.

In court he denied the charges after the particulars of the offence were read to him by the court clerk at the Kibera Court.

Additionally, the prosecution urged the court to grant him tough bond terms on the ground that it was a large amount of money.

“We urged the court to grant the accused person, Joseph Musembi Wambua, tough bond terms, as the offences committed were serious and carry serious penalties. We are intent on supplying the defence with the witness statements and all the documentary evidence that the prosecution will depend on for the case entries,” said the prosecution.

The accused person was released on bond after he denied the charges.
