Residents of Kibra are praising philanthropist Nicholas Okach Ondego, popularly known as Ceo, after Omoh Foundation conducted a major food drive in the constituency last week.

The foundation distributed food items to hundreds of families facing economic hardship, earning appreciation from community members who said the support came at a critical time.

However, as they received aid, many residents took the opportunity to express their frustrations over what they described as neglect by the current leadership.

According to locals, basic services have deteriorated, garbage remains uncollected, fires break out frequently, and access to medical facilities is limited. Several residents expressed that they do not feel represented.

We honestly don’t know who our MP is. Since we voted, we have never seen him here. Look at the garbage, look at the roads—nobody cares,” said Mama Mboga at the event.

Another resident, a mother of four, said the community has been struggling without visible leadership:

Hospitals are far and poorly equipped. When fires happen, we handle them ourselves. No one ever comes. But Omoh Foundation remembers us,” she said while receiving food supplies.

Others praised Nicholas Okach for maintaining close ties with the people.

“Okach is present. He listens and stands with us. If someone can represent Kibra, it is someone who knows the ground, not someone seated in offices, said a youth leader.

Representatives from Omoh Foundation said the food drive was part of a continuous effort to support vulnerable families, especially as the cost of living remains high. They noted that Kibra has unique challenges that require long-term solutions.

An Omoh Foundation representative thanked the residents for welcoming the foundation and emphasized that the foundation’s mission is centered on community welfare and empowerment.

We are here for the people, especially those who feel forgotten. The community’s voice matters, and the issues raised today are real, he said.

As the event concluded, residents called for more responsive and present leadership in the constituency, urging individuals like Okach to take a more active role.

For many families in Kibra, the food distribution brought temporary relief and renewed hope that their concerns would be heard.
