Lugari Member of Parliament Nabii Nabwere has issued demand letters to three bloggers accused of publishing defamatory claims linking him to the disappearance of Munyuki High School principal Simon Isiaho Shange.
Through his lawyer, Danstan Omari, the MP is seeking an immediate retraction, apology and compensation over what he terms a coordinated smear campaign intended to tarnish his public record.
The letters, addressed to bloggers Peter Amunga, George Opunga Tamata and Simon Asievela, accuse the trio of circulating false and injurious allegations on online platforms including Malava Online and Kakamega Post.
According to Omari, the bloggers published claims that the legislator orchestrated the accident involving the principal along the Eldoret–Malaba Highway on November 3, 2025, and further suggested he was involved in the teacher’s subsequent disappearance after witnesses rescued him from the crash scene.
In the strongly worded correspondence, the MP describes the claims as baseless, politically motivated and damaging to a reputation he says he has built through what he terms exceptional performance in Lugari.
Nabwere insists he shared a close friendship with the principal and had long supported education and social development across the constituency. He maintains the allegations not only shocked him but also amounted to an attempt to drag his name into political mud by unnamed masterminds.
Through his lawyer, Nabwere is demanding that the bloggers admit liability, pull down the posts from all their platforms, issue public apologies with equal prominence and compensate him with Sh20 million for reputational damage. The bloggers have been given a strict 12 hour deadline to comply.
Omari warned that failure to meet the demands will result in immediate legal action, saying his client intends to pursue full redress for what he argues are uninformed and malicious statements circulated to the public.
The demand comes in the wake of the mysterious disappearance of Principal Simon Isiaho Shange, who has been missing since November 3. Reports indicate he was involved in a road accident along the Eldoret–Malaba Highway, but what transpired afterward remains unclear.
While the wreckage was found, the principal vanished, fueling concern and speculation among residents.
