A city businessman has been charged with intent to defraud

Drumvale Farmers Cooperative Society land worth Sh 11 billion in Mavoko.

Jeremiah Mutisya Paul is accused of making a certificate of lease for the said land without lawful authority purporting it to be a genuine and valid document issued by the registrar of titles, a fact he knew to be false.

 

The accused is alleged to have committed the offense at an unknown place and time, jointly with others, not before a court of law, with the intent to defraud Drumvale Farmers Cooperative society of their parcel of land IR 20982 LR 8529/1 situated in Mavoko Machakos county, measuring approximately 452.0ha and valued at Sh 11 billion.

Paul denied the charges before Senior Principal Magistrate Robinson Ondieki.

He was granted a bond of Sh 1 million plus one surety of a similar amount and alternative cash bail of Sh 600,000.
