Senator Allan Chesang’s seat is up for grab after attacking Governor Natembeya, insulting the Nandis, and declaring himself a Sabaot Kingpin
Transzoia Senator Allan Chesang’s recent activities and remarks seem to be irritating the Transzoia voters who elected him hence putting up his seat for grabs.
In his speech yesterday during a funeral, Allan Chesang seemingly and effectively buried the MABANGA ACCORD which defined how leaders would be elected in the county, and as things stand, he is posed to lose his seat to Matisi Member of County Assembly.
According to several residents who spoke to our political reporters, Chesang’s frequent attacks on Governor Natembeya and his decision to declare himself as the Saboat Kingpin marks the beginning of his political downfall.
The Nandi community in the County has also called out Chesang a ‘disgrace’ and a ‘betrayer ‘ over his recent activities.
” Together with our Woman Representative Mrs Lilian Chebet Sioyi, they have been disrespecting our governor, residents, and other leaders with insults and draconian words. We shall do the necessary in the next polls,” said a resident.
Chessang’s activities have seen various people showing interest in his political seat, especially his.
” Senator’s frequent attacks on Governor Natembeya has earned him very many enemies, making his seat up for grabs. For instance, matisi MCA and currently deputy speaker of the county assembly of Transnzoia Hon Obed Mahanga may defeat him in the 2027 elections,” said a political expert.
Chesang’s buddy, who is also a Trans nzoia women rep Lilian Chebet Sioyi was booed down by residents yesterday when she tried to defend the government’s plans to sell JKIA to an Indian private company owned by Adan.
” We cannot allow her to bring lies to our area, let her go back and address those whom she thinks are fools. We cannot allow someone who supports JKIA taken over by the Indians Fraudsters,” said Alice Chepkoech, a resident from Transzoia.
*Chesang’s Despising the Nandi Community to Embrace the Saboat*
His idea to suggest that he is the current Saboat Kingpin seems to have even added more problems. Some experts have even called him out.
“Chesang is seen despising the Nandis over sabot, it might reflect intra-regional tensions or competition. This kind of statement would be significant if Chesang is positioning himself as a strong advocate for sabot interest possibly at the expense of neighboring communities,” said a resident.
He added, ” If Allan Chesang is suggesting he is the current ‘ Sabaot Kingpin’ and implying that President Ruto does not trust Pukose or Kapondi means that he sees himself as a key figure or leader in the Saboat community. The remark about trust could indicate political dynamics or power struggles within the region or government” he said.
The senator has in recent days made more enemies because of his political insults and name-calling. He has repeatedly insulted Governor Natembeya who has ignored him in totality.
” The governor has no time for insults and name-calling but he is a busy man dedicated to serving the people,” said a senior County official.
The senator recently called the deputy Governor’s seat as inferior drawing a lot of condemnation.
