A Nairobi-based lawyer has been implicated in Sh33million land fraud along the busy Thika Road.
Lawyer Mike Oyoo Wagunda was charged at a Milimani Court, where he denied the charges.
According to the investigations and documents in our possession, Lawyer Wagunda was removed from the Law Society of Kenya due to some integrity issues.
The court papers show that the accused person committed the offence on diverse dates between 4th May 2007 and 26th September 2017 at an unknown place within Kenya.
The chargesheet further states that, alongside others not before the court, he jointly with others not before the court conspired to defraud Mary Waithira Njoroge of the parcel of land by making a transfer of land dated 26th September 2017 to Benson Maingi Mutahi and Hellen Wanjiku Maingi, a fact he knew was false.

The prosecution further alleges that the accused person also obtained money by pretense contrary to the law.
He was charged with allegedly obtaining Sh 17.4 million from a man identified as Mutahi and Wanjiku after lying to them that he was in a position to sell them a piece of land.
In a separate count, the accused person was charged with willfully and unlawfully procuring the registration of the title in the name of Mutahi and Wanjiku by falsely pretending that the said land was duly transferred to them by Mary Waithira Njoroge.
The prosecution told the court that the accused is no longer an advocate since he was struck out from the role of an advocate and produced a letter from LSK to support the claim.
He denied the charges and pleaded with the court to release him on reasonable bond terms.
Magistrate David Ndungi released him on Sh 5 million with an alternative cash bail of 2 million.
The case will proceed next month for a further hearing.
